Current proposals by the Boundary Commission for England would essentially retain these 5 constituencies, with changes to realign constituency boundaries with the boundaries of current local government wards, and to reduce the electoral disparity between constituencies. In two cases the changes are sufficient for the constituencies to be renamed. These changes are expected to be implemented at the United Kingdom general election, 2009/10.
