Heather Langenkamp (born July 17, 1964) is an American film and television actress. She is best known for her part as Nancy Thompson from the A Nightmare on Elm Street films. She is currently in production, with Robert Englund and others from the Nightmare series, on a documentary about the Nightmare on Elm Street series set for release date on 2010 who works as executive producer.
Early life
Langenkamp was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Film career
Langenkamp's first acting venture was in her late teens: a small part in Francis Ford Coppola's The Outsiders (1983), filmed to a large extent in Tulsa, while she was attending Booker T Washington High School. While she was studying at Stanford University, Wes Craven cast her as teen heroine Nancy Thompson in A Nightmare on Elm Street, the first film in the series. Langenkamp starred in Fugitive Mind in 1999. In 2007, she played a role in the Italian independent film The Bet. She is also credited as AFX production coordinator as Heather Langenkamp Anderson on the 2007 film Evan Almighty. Langenkamp is one of three scream queens (also including Danielle Harris and Ellie Cornell) making their directorial debuts in the horror anthology film, Prank. Each actress is directing one of the three segments in the film. Langenkamp's film is entitled, "Jessica". Filming began in the summer of 2008. Personal life
She runs the Malibu Gum Company, which sells chewing gum packaged with trading cards depicting local surfing stars. She has married twice and has two children from her second husband, special effects make-up artist David Anderson. Their son, Daniel Atticus, was born on May 24, 1991 and their daughter, Isabelle Eve, was born on December 24, 1994.
