Biography
Abe Lyttleton is introduced as the first black police officer ever to grace Sun Hill. Upon arriving, there is mention that it is his third posting in only three and a half years, which is put down to him having trouble settling in as a "minority within a minority." Most of the relief welcome him, however he is constantly given a hard time by fellow newcomer PC Pete Muswell, whom believes that it is a mistake to include ethnic minorities in the Met. During their time at Sun Hill, Lyttleton is the victim of many of Muswell's racial attacks, whose nicknames for the minority include "Snowball" and "Paleface". Lyttleton rises above his racial taunts on many occasions, and in the end he even goes on to win Muswell's grudging respect. He does not stay long at Sun Hill however, and leaves after three months.
Abe suffers from vertigo, as revealed in an episode where he is forced to go onto a roof and arrest a man who is throwing tiles onto the street.
He appeared in 8 out of 12 episodes.
