60 Minutes is an Australian version of the hit U.S tv series that premiered 11 February 1979. It airs on Sunday nights on the Nine Network. It is a newsmagazine presented in much the same way as the American program, on which it was based. The New Zealand version of the show also used parts of the Australian show. The show has been a ratings hit making it in the top ten most watched shows in previous years, ever since its inception, recovering from a slight dip in 2007 to reach a consistent audience of 2,226 making it in the top ten of 2008.
